My name is Jenny and I like would to ask you, your family and friends to joins us at our purpose built Donkey sanctuary and visitors centre. I became involved with donkeys 6 years ago, following an illness. They helped me to the road of recovery.
I have had a love of donkeys all my life; even when I was a small girl visiting the seaside I always wanted to go and see the donkeys. I had an idea 5 years ago to build a sanctuary for donkeys so as we could rescue donkeys and nurse them back to health so as they could enjoy the rest of their lives in comfortable caring surroundings. It has been a struggle but after 5 years in planning we have now completed our new Sanctuary and visitors centre: The Wonkey Donkey.
Well first of all there are our beautiful Donkeys to see and interact with. At present we have 21 Donkeys and we are now looking to rescue more Donkeys in the future. You can take a stroll along the paddock walks and see the Donkeys in their family groups.
We offer disabled access and disabled facilities.
Time to relax in our new indoor Café or why not sit outside on the picnic tables in the play area or our courtyard seating area. We serve a range of sandwiches, paninis, fries and soups. Our qualified baristas will also be on hand if you wish to try one of our beautiful coffees. We also have a selection of teas and cold beverages. We offer children’s lunch boxes, snacks & ice creams. Then to finish could we temp you with one of our home made cakes or cookies made by our baker Josie.
All our food is prepared in a kitchen where nuts, gluten and other allergens are present and our menu descriptions do not include all ingredients. If youhave a food allergy, please let us know before ordering. Full allergen information is available on request.
You are guaranteed a great day out for all the family! So come and join us and your support will ensure we can continue our hard work and ensure that we can rescue more Donkeys in the future.
